Increase your odds of success on Amazon

In this post, we’d like to share four recommended method to increase your odds of success in selling on Amazon.

Listing quality: The bread and butter of success in your Amazon selling endeavour! 3 main factors that determine your listing quality, keeping product quality aside:

  1. Title: make sure your listing title tells a creative story- an important tip is to use adjectives. Make sure to capture all the relevant keywords in it to play the Amazon SEO game. How: Fully utilise Amazon PPC to drive traffic to your listing. You could use it to target relevant keywords to drive traffic to your product page or to target your competitors. Amazon PPC will also help you in getting your product in front of Amazon Prime customers- you only pay when your ad is clicked. You want to make sure you have a healthy ACoS (Advertising Cost of Sale).
  2. Product images and video: high-quality images are important for your product page on Amazon, make sure to have several images ready, and also be strategic about the order in which they appear on the listing. You could also make use of Amazon’s customer image feature. We highly recommend adding a product video to your listing. Jungle Scout reported that about 96% of customers find videos helpful in the process of making purchasing decisions online.
  3. Product description: it is important to have a well-written, keyword rich product description. You want to make sure you are including all the relevant information about your product, in a way that is easy to digest.

Customer reviews: Explore Amazon Vine! or, contact customers who have purchased your product to leave a review, you could add it to your package in the form of a card. Very important to keep in mind to not offer Compensations.

Price adjustments: Make a selective offering of brand/product on Amazon channel. If you launch a new product in a brick-and-mortar store, you could price it higher when it hits the market, then begin discounting only when demand wanes. On Amazon, you could start low, build a customer base which will win you reviews and in turn, stronger positioning and ultimately pricing power.

Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA): Tap into Amazon’s logistical prowess. Because only products that use FBA enjoy the benefits of free shipping to Prime members— highly incentivising them to buy your products.

Selling on Amazon can be a great opportunity for brands to build awareness and drive sales. However, it is important to consider how it will impact your brand in the long term. If you are serious about selling on Amazon and would like to increase your brand’s resilience, consider these factors!
